IVF success rates: what the numbers really mean

Average IVF success is around 50–60% per cycle, but your own chance depends on age, egg reserve, sperm quality and the lab. Here is how to read the numbers.

Every couple starting IVF asks the same first question: what are our chances? On average, IVF gives a 50–60% chance of pregnancy per cycle, but that single number hides a lot of detail.

Age is the strongest factor, because it decides both the number and the quality of eggs available. Egg reserve (AMH), sperm quality, uterine health and previous surgeries all shift the picture as well.

The laboratory matters just as much as the treatment plan. Embryos spend five to six days in culture, so air quality, incubator stability and embryologist experience directly affect how many usable blastocysts you get.

At PRAVI IVF we discuss your own realistic chance after the diagnostic workup — not a marketing average. If we believe a different route such as IUI, ICSI or PGT-A suits you better, we will say so before you start.
