What is the difference between ICSI and IVF?

ICSI is the same technology as IVF. Its entire process is similar to IVF technique.

The key difference between IVF and ICSI is how the sperm fertilizes the egg. In IVF, the egg and several sperm are left in a petri dish for fertilization. In ICSI, only a good and healthy sperm is injected directly into the woman's egg.

Know in detail how this process is used -

First of all, in the process of ICSI treatment, the semen of the man is taken. After that it is frozen in 196 degree liquid nitrogen. Freezing is done because men who have a high sperm count, so that they do not have to face problems in taking semen again.

The seamen are then sent for further testing. The semen is thoroughly machine washed during the testing process. After that the active (good) and inactive (useless) sperms are separated. Then by selecting the best sperm from among the active spermatozoa, further process is started.

In a Petri dish, the selected sperm is injected into the ejected egg from the female. After this procedure, the egg is kept under observation and waited until the embryo is ready. The embryo is ready in about 3 days. It is then placed inside the woman's uterus with the help of a catheter, which looks like a special flexible tube. The entire process of ICSI IVF takes 2.5 to 3 weeks. In many cases, treatment has been found to be more successful than blastocyst transfer. In which the embryo is kept inside the woman's uterus after being kept under observation for 5 days instead of 3 days. In this situation, the chances of becoming a mother increase.
